What is The Mum's Village?
The Mum's Village is a relaxed, welcoming space run by Fiona from Hypnatal Birthing.
A monthly informal group for mums and babies, designed to support you through the wild journey of parenthood.
When you become a new mum you think you need to be out at all the mum & baby classes, filling your days with endless things to do, and looking like you've got your sh*t together. You actually don't!
In the early days your baby needs a mum who is calm, relaxed and who feels supported. That's where the Mum's Village meet-ups come in - the perfect monthly place to come and feel like the weight is lifted off.
Who are these coffee mornings for?
These informal meet-ups are for mums at every stage of parenthood. Whether you're pregnant, in the new postnatal stage with a newborn, or in the toddler stage, this is your chance to take a breather, enjoy hot drinks, and connect with other friendly local mums who are in a similar stage to you.
With a selection of mats and toys, the little ones will be entertained so you can hopefully enjoy a drink whilst it's actually hot!
Flexible, pay-as-you-go mum & baby classes
There’s no commitment to come to every one, just a lovely bunch of mums and a space where you can feel a bit more like you again. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of conversation to feel less alone and like you're not the only one completely winging it (spoiler alert - we all are!)
You don’t have to do it all on your own; the more support you have around you in motherhood, the easier and more enjoyable it all feels. This is your village, and we’d love to have you in it.
Why Did I Start 'The Mum's Village'?
My first baby was born right at the start of the first Covid lockdown, and so I desperately felt like that my Village was taken away from me. I was a brand new first-time mum in Farnborough, and I felt so lonely.
I had friends with older ones, but they already felt like they were in a totally different stage of parenthood to me. I had an antenatal group from the NCT course I had done, but we couldn't meet up regularly and I found that so isolating. Nowhere to go, no-one to talk to in real life, no baby classes to give us some structure to our days.
I just wanted to get out the house, have a coffee, and meet other mums. I wanted to have open and honest conversations about how BLOODY HARD this was (why did no-one prepare us?!)
This is why I feel so passionately about creating this community, this Village, that is so needed when you're raising tiny little humans - the most exhausting, draining, all-consuming job you'll ever have (but also pretty incredible too!)
What To Expect at The Mum's Village
When you arrive you'll be greeted by me, Fiona, and I'll help you settle in.
There's plenty of space to park prams up and, if you're lucky enough to have a sleeping baby on arrival, feel free to leave them in the pram while you get settled in.
If you've not been before I'll introduce you and get you a hot drink to enjoy. You'll get your own name badge, so everyone knows each other's names (no awkward asking someone's name after you've been chatting for 20 minutes and already swapped birth stories!)
Then you can just sit back, enjoy some good chat and refreshments, while your little one explores the toys & mats provided.
There is baby changing facilities inside the main Victoria Hall complex building if you need it.
The coffee mornings start at 10am at the Jubilee Hall in Hartley Wintney, but there is no pressure to arrive at this time (lots of people arrive after this). Equally, if you need to leave before we finish at 12pm then please do head off when you need to.

Do I need to know someone already coming?
Absolutely not! Some mums come without knowing anyone on their first time, and leave with some new mum mates in tow. I will always welcome you in and make sure you're introduced to people when you arrive.

Yes, it's so easy to book a ticket here.
One you've booked you'll be given access to our private WhatsApp community - a warm, welcoming place to chat with other mums, ask advice or pass on any unwanted items your little one may have outgrown - it's so nice passing clothes / toys on to other families to use.
